Unemployed Lawyer Loses His Unemployment Because Of Adsense Earnings!

Well this is certainly surprising news!

It seems that a lawyer who was unemployed is losing his unemployment benefits because of money he earned using Google's Adsense program on his blog! According to an online article, the lawyer was making $1 a day using the Adsense program and the state of New York where the lawyer resides considers that money as earned income. However since this seems to be a relatively new kind of issue, New York has yet to decide whether or not the Adsense money should be considered as income or as residual money.

Here is a link to the online article:

Greatest Journals?

Does anyone have a journal on Greatest Journals.com?

It seems that their site is down! You can't post new entries and they are even suggesting that you get a new journal hosting site?

Widgets, Gadgets Gone Awry!

Unfortunately even though there are some great widgets out there they all don't always work!

So I have had to add another counter to this blog because it doesn't seem like the counter that I have been using for so long now is working!

I'm Being Criticized!

As I have posted before I participate in some of the Blogger.com help boards. I'm now being criticized for answering some of the older posts - say like 15 days old (and some older) that haven't had any replies to them.

I just don't understand this kind of reasoning. I mean if someone makes a post and no one replies to it doesn't that make it look like no one has taken the time to even look at it? If I can answer the post then I do - especially if I have something relevent to add. There have been times when I have answered an older post and someone has either emailed me or posted a comment to this blog either thanking me for answering their post or asking me for more information.

All of this started around the time that I started talking about their being a bypass for the bx error code problem and I came to find out that Blogger.com was not aware of there being such a procedure - so I didn't mention it again UNTIL someone brought it up on the boards!

So I'll just have to see how this kind of thing "pans" out!

I Give Up!

After seeing so many people posting about the problems that they were having with trying to upload their videos I decided to try and upload a video of my own to my Test Blog.

After 2 hours of waiting for a 650k video to load - I Give Up!

I'm Having Problems Accessing My Blog Tonight!

Very strange indeed!

Actually I'm typing this post now which means that at least I have access to adding entries on my blog. It's just that I am not able to view my blog!

I was going to see the error message again so that I could post about it here but as soon as I tried to get the error screen again - guess what? I was able to get to my blog again!

So now it's time to see if I'm able to view my blog again.

"There Is No Bypass Procedure"

There is a poll on the right side of this blog - if you don't see it just scroll down a little and you will see that it is a black box with white text.

The poll asks about the infamous bypass procedure for getting out of Blogger.com's bx error code screen. So far the majority of votes seem to be leaning towards the "there is no bypass procedure" votes.

This clearly shows me how naive people can be. Remember way back when the recording artists were looking for a way so that people couldn't copy their cds? All of that "advanced" technology went into finding a solution. They finally came up with a cd format that they thought was foolproof. Guess what? It wasn't!. Someone found out how to circumvent it. (I won't say how they found out though).

There is a way to bypass the bx error code screen on blogger. It's so simple I'm surprised that no one else has mentioned it.

It is my understanding that Blogger.com has said that there is no bypass procedure to get out of the bx error code screen.

They are wrong.

Bypassing Blogger.com's BX Error Codes - An Update!

Here is a reply that I made to someone who said that there was no bypass procedure to get out of the Blogger.com's BX error code screen:

Unfortunately you are wrong about this. I see now that I was wrong in
assuming that the Blogger staff knew about this "bypass" procedure and
I will say so in my blog.

When I was working on my blog and the error screen came on with the
offending bx error code I did a few keystrokes and got out of the
error screen and I was back to my blog template where I was able to
get back to work on my blog. Ever since then when I have gotten any
bx error code screen I just simply use the procedure again and again I
am able to get out of the error code screen and go right back to
working on my blog as if no error screen occurred. I did not clear my
cache or browser during any of these times. I have not had a problem
since with the error code screen...............................

Unfortunately you shouldn't think that just because someone receives a
"random" error code that its not an important issue to them. Many
times they may not even know that the error code that they are getting
is considered "random" and I don't think that it would be a good PR
move to mention that Blogger.com "are not concerned with the random
occurance error code(s)" because that is not sending a good message to
those bloggers that are receiving error codes that are considered
"random". They may be "random" to Blogger but they aren't considered
"random" to the people that are getting them

Never once have I called the bypass procedure a "secret" - I always
assumed that Blogger knew of the procedure but now upon reading your
post I see where you have posted that they don't know of or are aware
of any bypass procedure. The "error code" label links to my blog I
provided because those are the posts where I talk about the error code
problems and I tell people to contact the Blogger staff - which is
what I remember those error code screens saying - meaning that Blogger
wanted people to report the error codes to them. I do take issue with
what you said because I have seen you post links to specific blog
posts of yours where you tell people the same thing which is to report
their error code problems to Blogger - plus I provide a link to the
form on the side of my blog.

I also have to tell you that you are wrong about there being no bypass
to the error screen because I have used it myself to get out of the
error screen every time the error screen has showed up when I'm
working on my blog. Unfortunately just because you don't know what
the bypass procedure is doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. I know it
exists because I use it and it works. I am only assuming that the
reason why the Blogger.com staff isn't telling people about it is
because they want people to report their error codes as opposed to
just giving the bloggers the bypass procedure so that they can just
get out of the error code screen and bypass the error code screen
altogether
.

So while there IS a bypass procedure to get out of Blogger.com's error code screen they don't seem to think that there is?

BX Error Code Problem - Things Seem To Be Getting A Little Bit More Heated?

Looking at one of the threads that I replied to on one of the Blogger help message boards, I see that there have been some posts directed to and about me.

It seems this has to do with the whole bx error code thing. When people post to those message boards about having the bx error code screen pop up when they are working on their blog - what I reply is that they should contact the Blogger.com staff and report their error code problems. After all that is what what the Blogger.com staff want people to do - report the error codes to them.

However I think the problem comes with people wanting immediate solutions to the problem and that isn't the way that it works. When you report the bx error code problem to Blogger.com it is then that they are aware of the error code problem and it is then that they will start to work on the problem but they may not be able to solve it right away (which is why I can't understand why they just don't post the bypass procedure for getting out of the error screen altogether?).

You should also take a look at what their site says when you go to report your bx error code problem The site itself says that they generally will not respond when you post your error code problem but they want you to know that they are working to solve the problem.

"Help! I'm Getting An Error Code On My Blog! How Do I Get Rid Of It?"

If you are attempting to work on your blog at Blogger.com and you an error message that just simply means that there is some sort of "glitch" or "kink" in the Blogger.com's site.

What will happen is that while attempting to edit or post to your blog you will get an error message. Blogger.com will then ask that you forward the information about the error code that you are receiving and what you were doing to your blog when you got the error code. Once you forward that information to Blogger.com they will work on solving the problem.

Before when I used to get error messages while editing or posting to my blog, I would wait a few days and then go back to what I was doing with my blog because by then everything would be okay and I could go on and work on my blog.

It may prove to be quite futile if you keep re-entering your blog and you still get the error code(s) - you will just have to give it some time while the Blogger.com staff work on the problem(s).

There are lots of people posting about how they are receiving error codes while working on their blog. Here is a list of coding errors that have been reported by some people when they were trying to work on their blogs. If you have received the same error code rest assured that you are not the only one who has received the particular / specific error code.

As Blogger.com's website says "they are working on the problem".

For now when I receive any of the error codes while working on my blog I just bypass it and I'm able to get back to working on my blog. So if you can't wait for Blogger.com's staff to solve the problem then you can ask them for the codes so that you can bypass the error screen and get back to working on or editing your blog.

I HATE These Kinds of Blogs!

Ever find a blog post that you find very interesting and you would like to add your comments - only to find out that you have to "join" or "register" just to be able to post a comment!

I also don't like blogs where you have to "click here" to read the entire blog post.

I do find these types of blogs very annoying!

Of course it is only my own personal opinion. People may have very good reasons for having these kinds of blogs.

It Has Come To Hit Me! - I Am A Professional Blogger!

You know how I came to this conclusion? I now have to pay taxes on my blogging income!

This occurred to me tonight as I was filing out one of my local tax forms! This gave me the chance to look at my blogging income which is mainly coming from my Adsense iincome for this past quarter tax season.

It is a bummer having to report this income but I have to because once you make a certain amount from Adsense they have to report that income - which means I have to report that income too. (And if you too are an adsense publisher and you make over a certain amount of adsense money they you have to report it too!) By the way this is one of the reasons why you have to give adsense your tax ID #!

But it is also a great feeling to know that I am earning an income from actually blogging. So many people think that it can't be done and I know that it can! As a matter of fact I was reading a blog by someone who makes over $5,000 a month just from their adsense income alone! (You can vote on my How Much Money Do You Make Monthly With Adsense Poll and see the results of the others that have also voted in the poll.)

Now back to this "tax" thing and blogging. Actually I had to start reporting my blogging income at the beginning of the year when it became obvious to me that I was making enough that it had to be reported. Now I have to think about deductions! And there are quite a few deductions that I will be able to take! For instance I can deduct my Internet access fees, my ISP fees, and there are a whole host of others! If I can declare my own home office deductions then I can deduct even more expense - including part of my household expenses!

I haven't figured all of this out yet because this will be the first time that I have had to declare myself as a professional blogger. Now while I have until April of next year to get everything straightened out I want it to be straightened out well before then. So I'll report back as I progress with this "tax" thing and actually being a professional blogger!

Is Someone Trying To Sabotage Your Blog (or Website)?

Have you ever signed in to your adsense account to check your stats and noticed that there was an unusually high number of clicks on your ads? You know that you didn't do it and you're wondering what is going on.

It could be that someone is trying to sabotage your your adsense account!

What do you do if this happens to you? Well the very first thing that you should do is notify adsense! You can go to their site and find out more about what you should do if you notice questionalbe click activity to your site(s). You can also contact adsense via email if you scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the "contact us" link.

Now the question, of course, is why would anyone want to do something like this? There are many answers. Someone may just be vindictive and they may want to try and sabotage your account by placing so many clicks that your adsense account might become disabled or even worse yet cancelled. They themselves could have probably been disabled by adsense and they are looking for ways to get back at other people. They could also be a competitor trying to get your adsense account disabled as well.

Adsense's policy on invalid clicks is that they will investigate such matters but they have the final say-so as to whether or not they will continue or disable your account. I have seem many people post about how they felt that they were dealt with wrongly as far as invalid clicks were concerned but it is hard to judge unless one knows all the facts.

So if you suspect invalid and/or questionable click activity on your adsense ads notify adsense as soon as you are aware of the problem.

This has happened to my and my blogs and I have taken note of the person who was at my site at the time and I have (and will continue to) forward this information to adsense each and every time that it happens!

And I am not the only one that this has happened to. Click here to read what another clickbombing victim has said about their adsense account being terminated. But he did manage to get his adsense account re-instated.

Here are a few other links to check out:

Someone deliberately clicking the ads on your site to get your adsense account disabled

August 20, 2007 - Here is a link to another's blog post about what Google (and Adsense) are trying to do to help determine invalid click fraud

Adsense Help

for Invalid Clicks!

So I go and check my adsense numbers today and I found out that someone intentionally made a number of clicks on the ads that appear on this blog. I immediately notified adsense!

As long as it is not myself that is clicking on these ads, Adsense's equipment will show that it is not me that is clicking on the ads so many times.

So to anyone that is trying to stop my adsense account by sabotaging it with invalid and excessive clicks you are going to be very disappointed!

Sunday, August 19, 2007 - I found out something very interesting when I was checking my traffic stats. I was able to pinpoint the time that the invalid click user had invalidly clicked the ads on my blog.

I'm going to turn this information over to adsense to see if they can do anything with it!

Blogger.com Has Locked My Blog! How Can I Get My Blog Unlocked!

Blogger.Com Has Locked My Blog!

How Do I Unblock My Blog?

When Blogger "Locks" your blog it means that their robots have classified your blog as a "spam" blog. What is a spam blog? According to Wikipedia, spam blogs (or "splogs") are usually a type of scraper site, where content is often either Inauthentic Text or merely stolen (see blog scraping) from other websites .....

Blogger's robots have crawled your blog and determined that is was a spam blog. However there is no need to panic (unless your blog really is a spam blog) and all you have to do is contact Blogger via their email form.

This has happened to me also. You go into your blog's account and you find out that your blog has been locked/blocked. It says that you can save your posts in draft form but you won't be able to publish your posts.

Even though you may panic at first there should be a form on your blog sign-in site where you can fill out the form and email it in.

You see somewhere down the line a "robot" has crawled your site and determined that it was a spam site. Now your site probably isn't a spam site it is just that the robot sees it that way.

Once you fill out the form and send it in then a "human" set of eyes will review your blog to make sure that it isn't one of those spam blogs. Once your site has been reviewed and cleared you will be able to post to your blog again.

In my particular case it took blogger 24 hours to get back to me once I sent in the form.
