Should You Allow Comments On Your Blog?

The short answer is Yes! You really should allow for people to post comments on your blog because that makes your blog more interactive and also too people may return to your blog again and again just to see if there has been any response(s) to the comments that they have added.

However there is a problem that comes up and that is that sometimes people will leave a comment on your blog that really isn't a comment but an attempt to either advertise or just plain-out "spam" your blog.

In that case it would be a good idea to allow comments on your blog but but you should also moderate the comments first before you decide whether or not you want to add them to your blog.

Blog sites such as Blogger.com does give you the option of being able to moderate the comments before you post them to your blog

You optimize your site by deciding which keywords/search terms that you want associated with your site.

For example my blog about being an Adsense Consultant shows up on page 1 of both Google & Yahoo's search engine results when the terms "adsense consultant" and "adsense consulting" are typed into the search boxes.

Also indirect links to my blog turn on on the first few pages of the search engine results as well - mainly due to comments I have made elsewhere online. And since the name of my blog is "The Adsense Consultant" then those two terms are the ones that I want my blog to be associated with when people type those search terms in.

So you have to decide what keywords you want associated with your site and then see where your site ranks using those search terms. If you don't like where your site ranks (or it doesn't rank at all) then you start incorporating those search terms within your site.

People have remarked that they have been able to get into the search engines within 24 hours!

Never Underestimate Your Blog Posts!

I was looking at some of my google adsense numbers today and I was also looking at the stats for my websites and blogs. It's interesting to see that I have gotten a lot of blog traffic from some of my older blog posts - some dating back as far as 2008!

What this tells me is that you shouldn't think that just because your blog post is old that someone somewhere may not read it because that is simply not true! From my own stats information I can see that a lot of visitors to my blogs have gotten there because they were looking for information that was similar to the information on my blog even though my blog post was a few months or even a few years old!

So don't underestimate your older blog posts!
