The short answer is Yes! You really should allow for people to post comments on your blog because that makes your blog more interactive and also too people may return to your blog again and again just to see if there has been any response(s) to the comments that they have added.

However there is a problem that comes up and that is that sometimes people will leave a comment on your blog that really isn't a comment but an attempt to either advertise or just plain-out "spam" your blog.

In that case it would be a good idea to allow comments on your blog but but you should also moderate the comments first before you decide whether or not you want to add them to your blog.

Blog sites such as Blogger.com does give you the option of being able to moderate the comments before you post them to your blog
How can I optimize to make google see my site.

G~

You optimize your site by deciding which keywords/search terms that you want associated with your site.

For example my blog about being an Adsense Consultant shows up on page 1 of both Google & Yahoo's search engine results when the terms "adsense consultant" and "adsense consulting" are typed into the search boxes.

Also indirect links to my blog turn on on the first few pages of the search engine results as well - mainly due to comments I have made elsewhere online. And since the name of my blog is "The Adsense Consultant" then those two terms are the ones that I want my blog to be associated with when people type those search terms in.

So you have to decide what keywords you want associated with your site and then see where your site ranks using those search terms. If you don't like where your site ranks (or it doesn't rank at all) then you start incorporating those search terms within your site.

People have remarked that they have been able to get into the search engines within 24 hours!

You might also want to take a look at my
The SEO Consultant Blog for more information about how to get higher search engine rankings.

Sister2brotherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07717579654875305377noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4618324396844137612.post-19545129768737006622010-06-11T17:14:00.002-04:002010-06-11T17:19:36.305-04:00Blog Sells For $15 MILLION Dollars!

Still don't think that you can make money with your blog? It's interesting to see that I have gotten a lot of blog traffic from some of my older blog posts - some dating back as far as 2008!

What this tells me is that you shouldn't think that just because your blog post is old that someone somewhere may not read it because that is simply not true! From my own stats information I can see that a lot of visitors to my blogs have gotten there because they were looking for information that was similar to the information on my blog even though my blog post was a few months or even a few years old!

So don't underestimate your older blog posts!

Sister2brotherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07717579654875305377noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4618324396844137612.post-60824835286471865082009-11-09T20:31:00.001-05:002009-11-11T20:42:06.573-05:00Earning Money With Your Blog.......

As well as being a blog consultant, I am also an Adsense Consultant as well!

There are no adsense secrets or secrets to earning money with Adsense. What you have to do to earn money with Adsense is to generate traffic to your blog because more traffic means more potential clicks on your Adsense ads.

Another thing that you can do is to put higher-paying keyword content into your blog. There are some keywords and subjects that advertisers are willing to pay more money for and if you use those types of keywords in your blog you have the potential to earn more money with your blog.

I'm currently experimenting with some of the high-paying keywords that I have on my own high-paying keywords list and I'm also trying to implement some of those high-paying keywords into my clients' blogs as well.

You do have the potential to be able to earn a LOT of money with your blog using Google's Adsense program and there have already been some people who have earned $1 Million Dollars using Adsense!

Is that the kind of money that you would like to be making with your blog?

It's not an impossible thing to do because there have been others who have managed to earn that amount of money using Google's Adsense program!

Sister2brotherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07717579654875305377noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4618324396844137612.post-60541344237780663102009-10-08T22:53:00.002-04:002009-10-08T23:02:27.051-04:00Unemployed Lawyer Loses His Unemployment Because Of Adsense Earnings!

Well this is certainly surprising news!

It seems that a lawyer who was unemployed is losing his unemployment benefits because of money he earned using Google's Adsense program on his blog! According to an online article, the lawyer was making $1 a day using the Adsense program and the state of New York where the lawyer resides considers that money as earned income. However since this seems to be a relatively new kind of issue, New York has yet to decide whether or not the Adsense money should be considered as income or as residual money.

Here is a link to the online article:

Unemployed Blogger Loses Unemployment Benefits Because Of Earning Money From Google's Adsense Program

Sister2brotherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07717579654875305377noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4618324396844137612.post-83571929996757608142009-09-24T18:27:00.003-04:002009-09-24T18:36:37.015-04:00You Can Have Adsense BUT You Have To Pay First!

Another popular blog site seems to be a website called LiveJournal. This is another website that lets you create a free blog for yourself.

Up until now you could not add any Adsense ads to a journal / blog on the LiveJournal website. But that has seemed to changed now!

Apparently LiveJournal will let subscribers / users of LiveJournal add Adsense ads to their LiveJournals but only if those users / subscribers are PAID members of the site!

What this means is that if you have a journal on the LiveJournal site but it is a free journal then you can not add adsense to your journal. However if you are a paid member with a paid subscription then you can add Adsense ads to your journal.

It seems a lot of trouble to go through when you can have a blog for free on Blogger.com, a site that encourages you to add Adsense ads to your blog.

Sister2brotherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07717579654875305377noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4618324396844137612.post-38495556075663757492009-09-14T20:02:00.003-04:002009-09-14T20:13:42.919-04:00How Can You Get (More) Followers To Your Blog?

The most simplest and basic answer is for you to provide good content on your blog.

The reason why people follow a blog is because they find the information on that blog useful and helpful. The blog may also provide interesting and one-of-a-king information that a visitor may find worth reading and they will want to visit the blog over and over again just to see what new content the blog has.

If you want to make your blog more popular then the best way to do that is to find some type of niche - a subject that you are well-acquainted with - so that you will know of what you blog!

If you think that what you know about wouldn't be a popular topic then you may be surprised to know that lots of blogs are popular with the most bizarre of topics - but it is best to stick with what you know!

You can invite everyone to follow your blog but if they don't find the information interesting then they won't feel obliged to come back!

If you don't know why you're not getting followers to your blog then you should think about hiring a blog consultant to look at your blog so that they can help you find out how to make your blog more popular. A blog consultant can help you get more traffic and find sites that can help you gain more traffic to your blog.

If you don't want to hire a blog consultant, you can ask people to look at and assess your blog - those who won't charge you - to see where you can make improvements and help show you how to get more traffic to your blog.

Please remember though that this will take some time. Your blog needs to build up a reputation and that will take some time. But don't worry though because if other blogs (on various subjects) can get lots of traffic - your blog can too!

Sister2brotherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07717579654875305377noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4618324396844137612.post-17058473973517346072009-03-29T12:04:00.003-04:002009-03-29T12:11:06.836-04:00"How Do I Get Comments To Show Below My Blog Post?"

Please note that this only (so far) works with Blogger.com blogs.

If you would like the comments that you get to show below your blog posts instead of having them show on a separate page then what you can do is to go to your Blogger.com dashboard, then:

go to the "settings" tab

then go to the "comments" tab

then scroll down until you get to: Comment Form Placement and check the box "embed(ded) below post"

*Please note that this does not always work and if the comments aren't showing or you are getting feedback from visitors saying that they can not comment on your blog that you should change your settings back to your original setting.

Sister2brotherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07717579654875305377noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4618324396844137612.post-40319529188814010212009-03-28T22:25:00.002-04:002009-03-28T22:32:12.989-04:00Announcements!

I was looking at another blog and saw that it had an announcements box at the top side of the blog! I thought that this was a cute idea and decided to try it one of my own blogs - this one!

This particular blog is using Blogger.com's older format meaning that I have to go into the html of my template and add the coding for this box manually. (I may get around to updating this blog to Blogger.com's newer format - but not just right now!)

As you can see from my Announcements on the right, I now have a little box where I can put my announcements. You can do this to your own blog where you can add announcements about almost anything! What you are doing, whether or not you will be away for awhile, etc...............

If you are using Blogger.com's newer format then you can add this kind of box by simply adding a new gadget that lets you type in the html coding that will let you have this type of box. You can make the box look different by adding a different color background and adding a different kind of font to use as your text. Personally I think it looks great!

Sister2brotherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07717579654875305377noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4618324396844137612.post-49244473920502240082009-03-21T06:51:00.003-04:002009-03-21T06:58:52.656-04:00How Do I Paste The Adsense Ads On My Blog?

Generally speaking when you have signed up with and approved by Adsense you go through the process of picking out certain aspects of your adsense ads - ie color, size, etc. However you don't get to pick what specific ads appear on your blog because that will be determined by the content on your blog!.

Once you have gone through the above process of picking out certain aspects of your blog, you will be given the html coding that you are going to have to copy and paste to your blog. WHERE you paste the coding is going to depend on where you want your adsense ads to appear!

So it is very important that you have at least a little knowledge of html coding because if you put that Adsense coding in the wrong place it could mess up your entire blog!

Now if your blog is on Blogger.com then they make it a little easier for you. You can always copy and paste the coding yourself but if you would like Blogger.com to add the adsense ads for you then you have the option of doing it that way AFTER you have given Blogger.com permission to access your Adsense information!

To find out more about Google's Adsense program you can visit my The Adsense Consultant Blog.

Sister2brotherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07717579654875305377noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4618324396844137612.post-6468619086711293922009-03-10T22:42:00.004-04:002009-03-10T23:04:28.420-04:00"How Do I Make My Blog More Successful With Adsense?"

Just in case you don't know what adsense is, it is an affiliate-type advertising program where you can earn money online by visitors clicking on the ads that appear on your blog (or website).

For more information about Google's Adsense program you can visit my The Adsense Consultant Blog.

You may not be aware of this but there have been some Adsense Millionaires out there so this just goes to show you that it IS possible to make a lot of money with the Adsense program! You can click here to see one of my more popular blog posts about just how much some people have been making with Google's Adsense program!

But I'm sure the question that you are asking is HOW?

Basically speaking you make money with Adsense when visitors to your site click on the ads that appear on your site. You make MORE money when more people / visitors to your site click on the ads that appear on your site. You make even MORE money when the ads on your site are from higher-paying advertisers.

So the answer seems to be that first you should get as much traffic to your site as possible. (Please see my The SEO Consultant Blog for more information about getting more traffic to your site.

Additionally, you should also try to put in higher-paying keyword content into your site so that it will appeal to the higher-paying advertisers.

Now one of the questions that you may have is "What are the higher-paying keywords?" I offer a high-paying keyword list on my The Adsense Consultant Blog BUT you can find many sites that purport to have high-paying keyword lists available for free and you don't have to pay money for their information.

Just to give you some clue about high-paying keywords it seems that those keywords associated with financial-type things like debt consolidation, student loans, auto insurance, unclaimed money, government grants, current lawsuit litigation topics, etc bring in higher-paying advertisers.

Sister2brotherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07717579654875305377noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4618324396844137612.post-61489629012963526192009-02-08T15:29:00.003-05:002009-02-08T15:39:49.936-05:00"Can I Use A Blog Address.........................?"

Let's say you have a blog url that you think is perfect and you want to use it for your own blog address. You try to register the name with Blogger.com only to find out that it is already being in use. Just for curiosity sake you visit the url and come to find out that the blog hasn't been updated in quite some time - maybe even a few years.

If you think that this would be a perfect opportunity to be able to use that url as your own then please THINK AGAIN!

As far as I know, Blogger.com will not release a blog's url just because it hasn't been used in a while.

Unfortunately one of your only recourses (if you still want to use that particular url) is to get in touch with the owner of the blog address to see if you can get them to give you their url.

It may be highly unlikely but there have been some cases where people have received a LOT of money by selling their urls!

This may not be good news for those who have a perfect url in mind only to find out that its already been taken but there isn't too much that you can do about it. You'll probably have to come up with a creative solution to giving your blog the kind of url that you want.

Sister2brotherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07717579654875305377noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4618324396844137612.post-51973032992713652152009-01-21T21:12:00.003-05:002009-01-21T21:16:12.991-05:00Has Your Blog Been Blocked? Then you should do a search yourself using those keywords and see where your blog ranks. If you don't like where your blog is ranking - or more worse your blog is not showing up in the rankings at all - then you are going to have to work more harder at incorporating those keywords into the content of your site.

Optimizing one's site (or blog) for the search engines is called search engine optimization - SEO for short - and it has come a long way in the last few years. As you can well imagine, almost everyone wants a highly ranked search engine site listing! So that just means that the competition is high competitive!

But basically what it all comes down to is hard work!

As a SEO Consultant, I use my own The Adsense Consultant Blog as an example.

Currently my The Adsense Consultant Blog is on page 1 of Google's search engine results for the term "adsense consultant, however the actual number rank goes up and down.

Comments Received:

james oh said...

We, at the http://xxxxxxx.blogspot.com, are pleased to let you know that our blog came at top 1 in the google result result. However the traffic does not seems to increase much. Where went wrong. Your kind advice in this regard is greatly appreciated

Congratulations on getting to the top search engine results for Google's search engine!

However to increase the traffic to your blog you have to promote it more! It's just as simple as that! There are lots of places online where you can promote your blog for free and I suggest that you check some of them out to see if they are to your liking.

Sister2brother

The SEO Consultant
Sister2brotherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07717579654875305377noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4618324396844137612.post-32047242031495208832009-01-08T06:10:00.002-05:002009-01-08T06:25:11.286-05:00"I Am New To Blogging"......

I'm starting to see a lot of posts from those that are new to blogging and the majority of the posts have to do with asking about how one's blog can be noticed more.

Here is a link to a message forum thread where you can announce your new blog to the world!

It also helps if you can optimize your blog for the search engines (
you can read more about this topic by going to my The SEO Consultant Blog).

However I think the most important advice that I can give about getting your blog more well known and about how to get more people / traffic to come to your blog is for you to let your blog build up a reputation. Give your blog some time to get noticed! I have seen posts from people who have created their blog and published it on the Internet and expected it to show up in the search engines as soon as their blog was published? Usually it doesn't happen right away! Notice I said usually because there have been examples of sites showing up in the search engines in as little as 24 hours! A good example is my own The Adsense Consultant Blog because there have been quite a few of my blog posts that have showed up in the search engines in as little as 24 hours but I attribute that to the fact that there was quite a bit of interest in the subject matter of my blog posts which mainly had to do with people trying to find out when they were getting their Adsense payments!

I say that to say this:

The majority of people who have had their blog posts (or a link to their blog) show up in the search engines in as little as 24 hours usually have achieved this because the subject matter of their blog is very popular and people are using the search engines looking for information that is related to the information that they have on their blog (or website).

Sister2brotherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07717579654875305377noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4618324396844137612.post-69629609704572080262008-12-14T06:22:00.003-05:002008-12-14T06:26:56.556-05:00"Can You Honestly Make Money With Your Blog?"

of course this question has been asked a lot

and here is my reply:

Honestly you can make money with your blog! What a lot of people do
is to use Google's Adsense program - where you put ads on your site
and when (legitimate) visitors to your blog click on those ads you
then earn money!

Here are some facts though

You have to earn at least $100 minimum during the month before Adsense
will issue you a payment the next month. You can get paid either by
regular check or by bank transfer. In some areas outside the US you
can also get paid via Western Union!

And yes there have been some Adsense Millionaires!

You can go to my Adsense Consultant Blog and click on the link to (one of my most popular posts!) see just how much some people have been making with the Adsense program!

Of course there are other ways as well.....

There are other "affiliate" sites out there where you can earn money
by placing ads on your site but be sure to check out the "fine" print
because not all of them are worth it!

There is also a site called "Pay Per Post" where you earn money
posting reviews about other products, etc.......

You can even make money from your blog if it is very popular. For
instance Perez Hilton started a celebrity gossip blog and he now
charges $6k a week for advertising! Plus he got his own TV show out
of it!

So it is quite possible to make / earn money with one's blog.

Sister2brotherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07717579654875305377noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4618324396844137612.post-79639734286674574022008-12-12T09:34:00.000-05:002008-12-20T21:44:20.277-05:00Spam Comments?

Unfortunately spam is everywhere! And what makes matters worse is that when one solution is found, the "spammers" figure another way!

If you have enabled "comments on your blog with the moderation option then you may be quite familiar with the problem. Someone will leave a comment on your blog but also put a link to their "spam" related site! In the worst case scenario their comments aren't even related to your blog post but are just spam altogether!

Unfortunately and as far as I know, you can't just block one person from commenting on your blog - you have to enable the "moderation option so that you can moderate the comments - even if it is only for that one person!

Fortunately I happened upon a solution when I get a spam comment on one of my blogs. It does require a little extra work but it is a good example of turning lemons into lemonade! Actually I like when I get these so-called spam comments because my solution for dealing with them improves my computer skills and also helps with increasing my Adsense numbers too!

Sister2brotherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07717579654875305377noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4618324396844137612.post-57598875858138296512008-11-20T22:23:00.000-05:002008-11-28T22:39:54.742-05:00I'm New To Blogging. How Can People See My Blog?

Once you have started your blog and you have published your first post then - technically - it is on the Internet for the world to see!

However you do have to let people know about your blog though. It is quite possible that your blog could start to get traffic even without you promoting it but the more people that know about your blog the better!

For one thing if your blog is on Blogger.com then the more posts that you add the more likely that you will get traffic from those that push the link to the next blog button that appears at the top of your blog. That's one way to get traffic.

Another thing that you should do is optimize your blog for the search engines. In other words when people use the search engines to find sites / blogs similar to the information that they are looking for - then you will want your blog to show up in the list of search engine results. For instance, my The Adsense Consultant Blog is currently on the first page of search engine results when the term adsense consultant is typed into the Google's search engine. And basically that is the same result that you will want for your blog when people are looking for information similar to the kind of information that you have on your blog.

This is called search engine optimization and getting one's site to rank high in the search engine results is something that is going to take some work. People that are new to blogging have to understand that just because they have a blog (or website) on the Internet that it will not automatically get listed in the search engines! You have to do the work so that it shows up in the search engines and unfortunately getting a highly ranked site is what a lot of people are after and that is why getting a high ranking is so competitive! In fact it is so highly competitive that even those that have sites not related to the search terms have managed to get a high ranking even if it is by inscrutable means! Which just makes it tougher for those that have legitimate sites with legitimate and related information!

It may not seem fair but if you want to rank high in the search engines then you are going to have to see the competition that you are up against and start working on out-optimizing them!

You can find out more about search engine optimization by going to my The SEO Consultant Blog.

Sister2brotherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07717579654875305377noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4618324396844137612.post-64450487662383169302008-11-17T21:49:00.004-05:002008-12-08T20:55:29.031-05:00"Reactions"

I was driving myself crazy trying to figure out where this newest option was so that I could add "reactions" to my blog posts!
